The Johnny Appleseed Metro Park District will offer "Nature 101: Bats" at the McElroy Environmental Education Center at 7 p.m.,Tuesday, April 10.
Bats comprise the second largest group of mammals in the world with over 1000 species worldwide. Ohio is home to about a dozen species. Explore these fascinating animals and be prepared to put some preconceived notions to the test.

Chrissy Lugibihl of the Et Cetera Shop will show ways to recycle, repurpose and revive clothing and textiles at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, April 17, in the Fellowship Hall at First Mennonite Church, 101 S Jackson St.
Lugibihl, the Et Cetera Shop manager since 2003, will demonstrate how to dress and use textiles more sustainably and ethically. This is the April meeting for Transition Bluffton; if you are a regular attendee, please note this temporary meeting location.

The April senior citizen breakfast this month is Wednesday, April 11, in the middle school cafetorium (not the third Wednesday as previously announced). Breakfast serving begins at 8:30 a.m. The musical preview follows breakfast.

Beaverdam-Richland Township Fire Department will hold an all-you-can-eat spaghetti dinner from 4 to 7 p.m., Saturday, April 7, at the fire department, 201 W. Main St., Beaverdam.
Tickets are $8 for adults, $5 for youth ages 4 to 10, free for youth 3 and under.
The menu includes spaghetti, salad, garlic bread and drink.
Proceeds go to the purchase of new and updated equipment for the department. Tickets are available at the door.

Jim Volk, Columbus musician, will perform at 7:30 p.m., Wednesday, April 4, in this month's Town Hall Concert Series, according to Jeff Yoder.
