Bluffton is in from some interesting music on Wednesday. The Moxie Strings will spend a day with Bluffton school students and will then perform at 7 p.m. in the Bluffton town hall as part of the Town Hall Concert Series.

Rachel Lewis, Bluffton schools strings teacher said, "I am very excited about The Moxie Strings coming to Bluffton. This is a trio including a fiddle player, electric cello player and a percussionist. The group has a with Celtic and bluegrass style of playing." 

ArtSpace/Lima, 65/67 Town Square, Lima, announces Home for the Holidays, a large-scale holiday art sale, opening Tuesday, Nov. 19 and running through Saturday, Dec. 21.

Home for the Holidays will feature the works of 34 area artists. All media will be represented: oil painting, acrylics, drawing, artist prints, jewelry, ceramics, photography, iron work, work in wood, paper, and fabric. Many of the artists have been award-winners in earlier ArtSpace shows.

Bluffton Senior Center to host Public Dance on Halloween

The Bluffton Senior Center will hold a free public dance on Thursday, Oct. 31, from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m.

Toyna Meyer, Center director, said, "The classic country music band East of Cheyenne will perform for the dance. The band is made up of four band members, Kenny Hough, lead guitarist, from Arcadia, Dan Long of Port Clinton, Perry Richendollar of North Baltimore and Tom Davis of Findlay." 

Bluffton Elementary School will hold its annual book fair this week, according to Melissa Knauss, Elementary PTO president.

Daily hours will be 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday to Thursday, and 8 a.m. - 2 p.m. on Friday. 

Family night is Tuesday, Oct. 29, from 6-8 p.m. 

"If individuals have children or grandchildren, it's a wonderful time to start their Christmas shopping. What better gift to give than the power of reading," Knauss told The Icon.

The Nashville band, The Rough and Tumble, performs on the Bluffton Town Hall Concert Series at 7 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 26, according to Wendy Chappell-Dick.

The Rough & Tumble, consisting of Mallory Graham and Scott Tyler, describe themselves as “two scarecrows in a cornfield, two pairs of hands stealing the same piece of candy, a dust devil that traveled seven states to get to you only to make you cry… The Rough & Tumble are here to lock eyes with you in a crowded room, smile and wink at you.”

Starting Friday, Oct. 25 and playing through Thursday, Oct. 31 is CAPTAIN PHILLIPS (PG-13).
