BFR reminds Icon viewers - you can still "keep active"

You can still keep active - at BFR. The action is only one week old and lots of it is free. A printer-friendly attachment at the bottom of this story shows all the program options.

BFR announced its 2012 winter "Keeping Active" programs, which run now to Feb. 25, according to Carole Enneking, director.

"Be inspired or inspire someone you care about to become more active this winter," she said. "Try out free exercise classes, add walking for exercise, and more more about healthy eating and fitness."

"Mission Impossible" and "We Bought A Zoo" shown at Shannon Jan. 20 - 26

Peter Suter of Shannon Theatre announced that "Mission Impossible" (PG-13) and "We Bought A Zoo" (PG) are showing at the theatre from January 20 - 26.

Show times follow:

Mission Impossible (PG-13)

Each evening at 7:00 and 9:30 PM.

We Bought a Zoo (PG)

Saturday and Sunday matinees at 1:30 and 4:00 PM.

American Girl Doll tea party at Rhythm in Motion Dance Centre Feb. 5

Rhythm in Motion Dance Centre, 222 N. Main St., Ada, will host a themed American Girl Doll tea party in February, according to Darcey Schneider, studio owner.

The event is from 2 to 4 p.m., Sunday, Feb. 5, at the Ada studio.

Bluffton elementary P.T.O. invites community to Bakery Bingo Jan. 28

The Bluffton Elemenary P.T.O. will host its annual Bakery Bingo event on Saturday, Jan. 28, 6 to 8 p.m. in the Bluffton Middle School Cafetorium, according to Amy Mikesell, P.T.O. event coordinator.

Participants in the annual fundraiser can purchase a pack of 12 bingo cards for $1. Winners will take home donated bakery items. The P.T.O. raises additional funds at the event by selling concessions and 50/50 tickets for gift baskets, which have also been donated by local businesses and community members.

Thursday, Feb. 2, next Red Cross blood drive in Bluffton

Bluffton's next American Red Cross blood drive is from noon to 6 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 2, at First Mennonite Church.

How to Donate Blood
To schedule an appointment to donate please call 1-800-RED CROSS (1-800-733-2767) or visit redcrossblood.org for more information.

Individuals who are 17 years of age (16 with parental permission in Indiana and Ohio), meet weight and height requirements (110 pounds or more, depending on their height) and are in generally good health may be eligible to donate blood.

DePue De Hoyos performs at Freed Center Jan. 26

DePue De Hoyos will perform at the Freed Center for the Performing Arts in Ada, on Thursday, Jan. 26, at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $20 each and can be ordered by calling the Freed Center Box Office at 419-772-1900 or on the website at www.freedcenter.com.

A chance meeting south of the border in the Baja coastal town of La Mision, melded the talents of these two stellar musicians known for their fiery performances.
