Lions selling barbecue chicken dinners Nov. 26

During the Blaze of Lights, the Bluffton Lions Club will provide chicken barbecue dinners prepared by Harlan's of Pandora.

The dinners will be served from 4 to 7 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 26, at the Bluffton Elementary School. Tickets for the dinners are $7 each and are available from any Bluffton Lions Club member.

Drive in service will be available. For additional information, contact Elaine Harris at 419-358-2649.

Next American Red Cross Bluffton blood drive Dec. 1

Bluffton's next American Red Cross blood drive is from noon to 6 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 1, at the First Mennonite Church.

How to Donate Blood

To schedule an appointment to donate please call 1-800-RED CROSS (1-800-733-2767) or visit redcrossblood.org for more information. Individuals who are 17 years of age (16 with parental permission in Indiana and Ohio), meet weight and height requirements (110 pounds or more, depending on their height) and are in generally good health may be eligible to donate blood.

"Puss In Boots" and "Footloose" shown at Shannon November 18-22

Peter Suter of Shannon Theatre announced that "Puss In Boots" (PG) and "Footloose" (PG-13) will be showing at the theatre from November 18 to 22.

Show times follow:

Puss In Boots (2D only) - Every evening at 7 PM with Saturday and Sunday matinees at 1:30 PM and 4:00 PM.

Footloose - Every evening at 9:30 PM only.

Thanksgiving bake sale Friday in MMH lobby

The Mennonite Home Communities of Ohio Service Group will hold its fifth annual Thanksgiving bake sale from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., Friday, Nov. 18, in the Mennonite Memorial Home lobby, 410 W. Elm St., Bluffton.

The bake sale offers delicious cinnamon rolls, pies, cakes, cookies and breads ready for your holiday entertaining.

All proceeds from the sale go to The Service Group of Mennonite Home Communities Of Ohio.

Middle school book fair Nov. 18-21-22

Bluffton Middle School is having a Scholastic Book Fair on Friday, Monday and Tuesday, Nov. 18, 21 and 22. The book fair hours on Friday and Monday are during school.

Book fair hours on Monday, Nov. 21, are also from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 22, hours are 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.

The sale includes posters, computer software, school supplies and books.

Freed Center's 17th annual holiday spectacular Nov. 18-19-20

Ohio Northern University's Freed Center for the Performing Arts presents the 17th annual Holiday Spectacular on Friday, Nov. 18, at 7:30 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 19, at 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m., and Sunday, Nov. 20, at 2 p.m.

There also will be performances at the Civic and Convention Center in Lima, on Friday, Dec. 2, and Saturday, Dec. 3, at 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. and on Sunday, Dec. 4, at 2 p.m.

Featuring popular Christmas songs, the production centers on the misadventures of Mrs. Claus and Pixel the elf as they try to help Santa Claus on Christmas Eve.
