Get out of the heat on Thursday and Friday (July 5-6) with free and cool entertainment at the Shannon Theatre.
From 1 to 5 p.m. on both days, Shannon Theatre will continuously loop about an hour's worth of classic 1940's and 1950's cartoons, as well as about 30 minutes worth of previews for up-coming movies.
The air conditioning set at a chilly 70 degrees, and with free admission, anyone may come and go as you like, all afternoon.
The theatre will mix the content up between Thursday and Friday so that persons can join us both days
You might called the Saturday, July 14, Bluffton Taste of Summer "Italian Heritage Night," or perhaps its an Italian-American summer festival.
Bluffton's Taste of Summer continues with an evening of food and entertainment at Jeannie's Restaurant, on Vine Street, from 4 to 9 p.m., Saturday, July 14. The event is part of a summer series sponsored by the Bluffton Area Chamber of Commerce.
The event is family-oriented and is open to the public.
The Bluffton Lions Foundation invites the public to attend the eighth annual Freedom Fest on Saturday, June 30, at the Bluffton University football stadium.
The event kicks off at 5 p.m. with games and inflatables for the kids and hotdogs, popcorn and homemade ice cream for the whole family.
Scheduled entertainment includes Dancers' Elite at 5 p.m. and 5 Miles High beginning at 6 p.m. Live duck races will run throughout the evening and the event culminates with a fireworks show at dusk.
"Area runners and those interested in picking up the sport are encouraged
to join either the Walk to Run or Improve Your Run program at BFR," according to Carole Enneking, BFR director.
Meeting twice weekly for eight weeks, the running groups will work on
endurance and form. The Walk to Run program is designed for those
individuals who are already walking but have not ever attempted a 5K race.
