Bluffton High School's marching band will perform a free show at noon, Friday, Aug. 19, at the village park, according to Dave Sycks, director.
The show is a tune-up for the Allen County Fair band show held later that evening.
The noon show will include the pre-game, the first show of the year and portions of the second show.
This year's first show's theme is a '70s look-back of the music of Earth, Wind and Fire. Music performed includes After The Love Is Gone, Get Away and September.
Icon advertiser The Inn at Ohio Northern University will host a Food and Wine charitable event for the Ada Public Library Thursday, Sept. 15, at 6:30 p.m.
It will take place in the garden courtyard (weather permitting). The evening's menu will feature "Farm-to-Table" selections paired with fine wines.
Part of the event proceeds will be donated to the library's Headstart program. This program allows children to receive important education through a number of board books, story times, games and more.
Ohio Northern University is holding children's auditions for the annual "Holiday Spectacular" on Sept. 25 at 6 p.m. Auditions will be held in the Freed Center for the Performing Arts located on the ONU campus.
The show calls for singers and dancers ranging in age from 5-12. Children may be asked to sing and should be ready to participate in a dance call, which requires jazz and/or tap shoes.

The Lilly Oncology International Art Competition and Exhibition will make a six-day stop at the Blanchard Valley Regional Cancer Center (BVRCC), Findlay, from Aug. 18 through Aug. 25.
The show will be open from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Aug. 18, 19, 22, 23 and 24, and 8 a.m. to noon on Aug. 25. It is free and open to the public.
The Lilly Oncology International Art Competition and Exhibition features artwork created by cancer patients and their caregivers. Artwork includes acrylic, oil, pastel, photography and water color mediums.
