The Bluffton High Schooll choirs will entertain senior citizens this week. The performances will be during the 8:30 a.m., Wednesday, Dec. 8, senior citizen breakfast. The event is at the middle school cafetorium and is free and open to all senior citizens in the Bluffton school district.

It's a weekend full of small-town holiday-related activities. Friday, Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 3-5, has something for nearly everyone. Here's a list of goings on, if you seek something to do. For a complete list of activities in the community this month click here.

An American Red Cross blood drive is Thursday at First Mennonite Church. Donor times are from noon to 6 p.m.

How to Donate Blood
To schedule an appointment to donate please call 1-800-RED CROSS (1-800-733-2767) or visit redcrossblood.org for more information. Individuals who are 17 years of age (16 with parental permission in some states), meet weight and height requirements (110 pounds or more, depending on their height) and are in generally good health may be eligible to donate blood.

Holiday festivities at Bluffton Public Library continue on Saturday, Dec. 11, including several activities for youth. Santa Claus will make an appearance at the library at 11 a.m. He will read a story and then children may present their wish list requests to him until 1 p.m. Other activities for children include a make and take craft and cookie decorating.

In addition, Oscar Velasquez will be playing holiday music on his guitar from noon to 1 p.m. This gives library patrons a chance to meet the artist and purchase his Blaze of Lights prints from 1-2 p.m.

First Mennonite Church will host an American Red Cross blood drive from noon to 6 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 2, at the church.

Bluffton Lions are collecting food for the Bluffton Community Assistance Program food pantry this winter. Donation boxes are in several locations around Bluffton. It is one of several local service projects of the club.
