BFR will offer several youth tennis programs this spring and summer, according to Carole Enneking.

BFF Sports and Fitness offers traditional lessons for youth as well as the newly created USTA Quickstart program.

Limited space for returning players is available in the remaining four-week session of traditional lessons.

Summer programs will include Quickstart program as well as traditional lessons. Quickstart (for ages 6-10 years) blends tennis skills with smaller court play.

The community of Bluffton's next American Red Cross blood drive is from 11:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., Thursday, April 28, in Burcky Gym, Bluffton University.

Donors will be entered into a drawing for a $50 gasoline gift certificate. E-mail [email protected] to schedule your blood donation appointment.

The Apollo Career Center Floral Design/Interiors program is holding its annual bedding plant sale beginning May 3. The program will have tits greenhouses full of annuals and perennials waiting to be planted.

The sale will begin Tuesday, May 3, 8-10:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m.-2 p.m. The sale will continue until all plants are sold.

Bring your family and party attitude to Bluffton Public Library on Monday, May 2, to celebrate Cinco de Mayo. The program begins at 6:30 p.m. and will be hosted by Oscar Velasquez.

Some of the festivities include the history behind the day and traditional Spanish music such as "La Paloma" and "Solamente Una Vez," which are part of a short program of beautiful songs and enchanting melodies. There will even be a pi~nata party for the kids after the performance - fun for the whole family.

In honor of Jazz Appreciation Month, Bluffton Public Library is hosting "Jazz in the Stacks" on Monday, April 18, beginning at 6 p.m.

Jazz music will be presented by the Bluffton High School Jazz Band led by David Sycks. Refreshments will be provided.

This is your last chance for Relay For Life Kick-Off meals. Tickets are still available at Greg's Pharmacy through Saturday for the discounted price of $4.50.

After Saturday they will not be available until Tuesday at the door for $5.

"We will purchase extra meals, but they will be on a first come first serve basis," says Sharon Garmatter of the event committee.
