Spectrum Salon, 442 N. Main St., Bluffton, holds its first-ever cut-a-thon, and you are invited to participate, according to Mandy Kinn, owner.

From 9 a.m. until noon on Saturday, June 18, Spectrum Salon stylists donate their time to cut hair with proceeds going to the Bluffton Good Samaritan Women’s Group.

There are no appointments connected to the cut-a-thon. It’s a first-time, first-served event. In addition to the fund-raiser aspect of Saturday, patrons will get a chance to win some door prizes.

The Icon slowed down for these three deer as they crossed the Tom Fett Road near Rockport Road in the middle of the afternoon last week.

Address presented by Fred Steiner

For the next 20 minutes let’s focus on:
“How to succeed in Bluffton by really trying.”

The Grace Albrecht Gallery in the Sauder Visual Arts Center on the campus of Bluffton University will host an exhibit by Gregg Luginbuhl ’71, Bluffton University emeritus professor of art, titled “Making My Way.”

Luginbuhl has exhibited pottery and ceramic sculpture in more than 200 regional and national exhibitions. He has received numerous awards, and his work is included in five Ohio Museum collections.

The exhibit is a retrospective featuring work by the artist over a period of 50 years.

Here's a "different" kind of Bluffton garage sale. It's a Bluffton University campus-wide sale.

You'll find it from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday, April 30, in Burky Gym, which is part of Founders Hall.

Items include students selling lofts, furniture, dorm decor, clothing, etc. The garage sale is hosted by Bluffton University Business Leaders Club

One pink flowering crabapple tree in the spring is a beauty to behold. Two together are astounding.

Can you locate in your mind the place in Bluffton where you might see these two trees today?

Answer: Between Chiles-Laman Funeral Home and Jon and Mandy Kinn's Main Street residence.
