You don’t have to be a bicycle rider to enjoy this year’s Ride to Remember bike ride taking place in Bluffton on Saturday, July 16.

Several events in the BFR-Community Swimming Pool area are open to the public.

VOLUNTEERS WELCOME TO ASSIST THIS YEAR'S EVENT

“We are trying to expand the Ride to Remember to involve as much of the community as we can,” said Dick Ramseyer of the Bluffton Lions Club Foundation, who is the event’s main sponsor.

There's a weekend open house in Ada and you are invited.

Gallery for the Arts, 115 S. Main St., will hold an open house from 4 to 7 p.m., Friday, April 8, and from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday, April 9. The Gallery features original works by Ada artists and artisans.

Visitors will be served wine and munchies on Friday. On Saturday will be coffee, juice and breads. In addition a collection of Gallery items will be raffled.

When Ruth Roiter opened the gallery she described its purpose this way: “I set the stage. The artists are the performers.”

Bluffton eighth grader Courtney McLaughlin's performance at Saturday's Division I boys' state finals basketball game got us to thinking.

In 2011 Kevin Gratz and his "Shirts and Pants" extra-curricular male choir of Bluffton High School boys also advanced to the state finals. That 15-member choir also performed the National Anthem.

The photo above shows the group minutes before walking out on the basketball court.

The Bluffton Area Chamber of Commerce continues to add events to Bluffton 2016 calendar. Here's the update as of March 17. Organizations with additional events to add may send details to [email protected]
