MEDIA RELEASE—The Findlay-Hancock County Community Foundation Board of Trustees approved grants totaling $1,262,356.20 at the November board meeting. This total includes 26 responsive grants, four president's discretionary grants and 89 donor-advised fund grants.
Among responsive grants, the Bluffton Lions Club was awarded $50,000 to support an all-inclusive playground.
MEDIA RELEASE__The Bluffton Area Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce the return of the Residential Lights Competition, with a more inclusive format designed to celebrate the many beautifully decorated homes throughout the Bluffton community.
In previous years, residents were required to register to be included in the competition. However, Chamber leaders noticed that many of Bluffton’s most festive homes were never officially entered. There are so many beautifully decorated homes in Bluffton, and many do not register for the competition.
Holidays are steeped in tradition and, sometimes, predictability.The Veterans Day assembly held by Bluffton American Legion Post 382 on November 11 at Bluffton High School broke the mold to both quantify of the presence of veterans across the nation and give a slice of local veterans’ experiences.
MEDIA RELEASE__"Battling for Bikes" from Bluffton Elementary School earned first place in the Health Action Council Healthy Kids Fall Step It Up Challenge. Team members Jaime Combs, Heidi Steiner and Ryan Dunlap won $1,500 for their school and averaged 808,262 steps.
