Obituaries

Robin S. Sargent, 71, of Columbus Grove, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on Wednesday, May 27, 2026. She was born on March 8, 1955, in Bluffton, Ohio, to the late Robert and Margaret (Martin) Hursey. She is survived by her husband, Roy Sargent.  

Marlin Leroy Burkholder, age 89, of Columbus Grove, went to be with his Lord and Savior on May 17, 2026. He was born on December 8, 1936, in Bluffton, Ohio to Vernon and Viola Burkholder. 

Marlin was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He will be remembered for his love of the Bible, his service to the church, and commitment to family. Marlin graduated from Beaverdam High School in 1954. On August 9, 1957, he married his sweetheart, Kay Miller, and began raising their family together. 

David Lee Wilson, 74, passed away on May 16, 2026 at his residence. David was born on October 19, 1951, in Washington, Iowa to the late Lloyd and Marveline (Bence) Wilson. On February 8, 1973, he married Nancy (Scheeler) Wilson and she survives. 

Carol J. Bell completed her earthly journey on May 13, 2026. She transitioned to her eternal heavenly home in the same way she approached everything, with dignity and grace. 

Carol was loved by all who knew her. She made sure her family and friends always knew how deeply she cared for them.  She lived each day guided by three clear priorities: family, faith, and fun. 

Carol married Tom Bell on February 11, 1967, in Bluffton, Ohio. In 1969, they moved to Columbus, Ohio, and eventually settled in Westerville, where they built a beautiful life together. 

Sara M. Beery, 96, passed away May 12, 2026, at the Mennonite Memorial Home.

Sara was born August 23, 1929, in Bluffton, to Millard and Sophia (Eisenbach) Oberly, who preceded her in death. She was previously married to Howard Eldon Beery and they had four children together. 

She was a 1947 graduate of Bluffton High School and attended Ebenezer Mennonite Church. She worked for the Triplett Corporation and Richland Manor. She was a member of the Bluffton Senior Center. She loved to knit, sew and bake. She especially loved spending time in her garden.

Sharon K. Rettig, 83, passed away April 29, 2026, at Blanchard Valley Hospital.

Sharon was born on October 25, 1942, in Bluffton, to Russell and Lamoile "Molly" (Salsbury) Amstutz who preceded her in death. On August 4, 1961, she married Norman Rettig, who preceded her in death on July 5, 2006.
