Intergenerational program that involves Hilty Preschool and Child Care

You’re having a bad day.  You’re feeling not so great and a little bit lonely.

Suddenly, a 4-year-old walks up, grabs your hand and talks non-stop about the truck he saw on the way to daycare.  Maybe it’s the touch, but for a moment, you see that truck through his eyes. . . that great big, beautiful blue truck.

The day just took a turn for the better!

Pies, fried chicken and meatloaf top the list for MMH elders

When Julie Wolfe arrives at work at 5:45 a.m., it’s more than likely she’ll start preparing scrambled eggs and bacon.  As a cook for Mennonite Memorial Home, Wolfe knows what her “customers” like and basic foods are always a hit.  When she varies the breakfast menu, it’s usually with standard fare such as pancakes and biscuits and gravy.

“Our elders love bacon and eggs,” Julie laughed.  “They also love anything that’s homemade and will ask if a dish was made from scratch.”
