The Bluffton Lions Club hosted a team from the Nationwide Children’s Hospital at their club meeting on Feb. 6.  Dr. Randal Olshefski, pediatric oncologist, was the speaker for the group.

A fact given during the presentation is: "Every two minutes a child is diagnosed with cancer and less than half of the world’s children have access to effective care." 

We won't give out his phone number, but he's 67 today - we think

Steve Stratton, where have the year's gone? Facebook says it's your birthday today. And, Facebook can't be wrong. We think that means you must be 67, or so.

Heck, we remember your second grade birthday party in Mrs. Jerome's room in the grade school.

Hopes to major in business at Ohio State

Aimee Ritter, a senior, is the January Bluffton High School student of the month.

She is involved in many activities including Spanish club, Math club, Math team, solo and ensemble, SADD, yearbook staff, Gold Star 4-H club, National Honor Society and is a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church youth group.

In top 10 for both Bluffton and the nation in 2017

Parents in and around Bluffton followed some of the national trends in baby naming last year, by favoring Amelia for a girl, and Grayson and Mason for a boy.

John S. and Linda Harbison III of Bluffton, formerly of Dunkirk, are celebrating
their 50th wedding anniversary this month..

John S. and the former Linda Brien were  married Feb. 11,1968, by the Rev. William S. Noble at the Church of Christ (Disciples) in Kenton.

John S. is the son of the late John S. Harbison, Jr., and Reba Harbison and
has a sister, Janice Meier, in Cleveland. Mrs. Harbison is the daughter of the
late Lester and Vera Brien. She has two brothers, Michael of Woodville, and Timothy of Rock Island, Ill.

The Bluffton Boys and Girls 4-H / Cloverbud groups will hold a meeting on Monday, Feb. 26 at 6:45 p.m. in Kathy Moser's classroom in the Bluffton elementary school.
