2016-17 senior musicians recognized

Bluffton High School music department presented 2016-17 awards to seniors during a music banquet earlier this week.

Remember when you first read "Little House on the Prairie"?

Reading and living the story is an annual rite for Bluffton third  graders. Here's Beth Raeburn's class on May 12, as the teacher explains:

"The entire third grade reads 'Little House on the Prairie,' by Laura Ingalls Wilder, each spring as a novel in our reading classes. 

Rhodes State College announced its 2017 Spring Semester Dean’s Lists for part-time and full-time students.
 
Part-time students:

To be eligible, a student must be enrolled in at least six but not more than 11 credit hours and earn a 3.5 grade point average or higher.

Two orchestras directed by Rachael Lewis performed at May 12 contest

Bluffton fifth-sixth grade string orchestra and Bluffton Junior High orchestra both received "excellent" ratings in competition earlier this month.

The fifth-sixth graders entered Class C and Junior High entered Class A in the OMEA large group adjudicated event at Parkway High School on May 12. Rachael E. Lewis is the director of both orchestras.

She will attend Bluffton University in the fall

Sydney Staton is the May Bluffton High School student of the month.

A senior, she is a member of the Show Choir, Chamber Choir, Math Team and played softball, track and soccer where she was the team captain.

She was awarded the "Student of the Year" in Statistics and in Photography, received the top score on the Ohio Math League Test and was awarded the academic excellence scholarship.

Her hobbies include photography and Photoshop. Her pos-secondary options were at Rhodes State College where she took Calculus.
