The Easter Bunny visits Bluffton at 10 a.m., Saturday, March 19.
Mennonite Home Communities of Ohio (MHCO) and Jerry Lewis’ McDonald’s host their annual Easter egg hunt at Mennonite Memorial Home, 410 W. Elm St., Bluffton.
The egg hunt will take place rain or shine. There is no rain date. Children ages 8 and under are invited to hunt for hidden eggs, register for prizes, gift baskets and have their parents take their pictures with the Easter Bunny.
The Bluffton High School concert band competing on March 11 in Large Group Adjudicated Events, held at Shawnee High School, and received a Superior Rating.
According to David Sycks, band director, the band played the National Emblem March (Bagley/Schissel), Saturn: the Ringed Planet (Rob Romeyn), and Encanto (Robert W. Smith). There was a sight-reading portion of the competition as well.
Emily Metzger is the Bluffton High School February student of the month.
Emily is a junior with a 3.846 grade point average and is the daughter of Mike and Amy Metzger of Bluffton.
Emily is a member of the Bluffton High School volleyball and track teams. In 2015 she received the "Pirate Award" in volleyball. She also competes on the Bluffton powerlifting team.
Other school activities she is involved in are Latin Club, FCA and the prom committee. She volunteers at both the High School and the elementary school.
Bluffton High School artists excelled at the Art Space Lima High School Kewpee Invitational, which is open now to April 9, according to Vicki Garmon, high school art teacher.
Of the nearly 400 entries, 121 pieces were selected for the show. Each teacher was able to enter only 30 art pieces.
This is the first in a series on Ada artists and artisans showing original works for sale at Gallery for the Arts, 115 S. Main St., Ada. The gallery is an Icon advertiser.
