Two Bluffton High School girls are attending Buckeye Girls’ State at the University of Mount Union, Alliance, this week, while two boys are attending Buckeye Boys’ State at Bowling Green State University.
The students are Megan Sycks and Marley Runk at Girls’ State and Conner Dawson and Trevor Bunch at Boys’ State.
The four students will be seniors in August at BHS.
Bill Swank a 1966 Bluffton High School and 1970 Bluffton College graduate, will be recognized on Saturday, June 11, as one of 15 Ohio High School Athletic Association Officials of the Year for 2015-16.
Also during the program will be the induction of 15 members to the OHSAA Hall of Fame.
Now retired, for many years, Swank was middle school principal, athletic director and coach in several sports at Van Wert. Although retired, he continues to work as a high school sports official.

ArtSpace/Lima announced that "Making My Way: A Gregg Luginbuhl Retrospective"will be shown in the Ellen Nelson Gallery from June 12 through July 23.
Luginbuhl has been a fixture on the local and national art scenes for over 40 years. He has taught at the University of Findlay (1976-1984) and at Bluffton University (1984-2014).
Almost 1,000 seniors from across the state are putting finishing touches on manuscripts, poems, paintings, sculptures and other works of art in preparation for the annual regional and state-wide Art and Writing Shows sponsored by LeadingAge Ohio.
Maple Crest, 700 Maple Crest Court, Bluffton, will host the Northwest Region competition on Tuesday, June 14, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Patio Room.
The LeadingAge Ohio Art and Writing Shows display works of seniors with years of artistic experience right alongside those who are just beginning to explore their craft.
The Bluffton Shuffleboard club held its annual Mildred and Clarence Brunn doubles tournament on June 2. The tournament is sponsored by A to Z Meats, which is operated by the family of Mildred and Clarence Brunn.
