The May student of the Month for Bluffton High School is Kristen Yost, daughter of Jason and Jennifer Yost. Kristen is a Junior at Bluffton with a gpa of 3.948.
Kristen is active in the Drama club, Latin Club, Show Choir, Flag Corps, pep band, concert band, concert choir, chamber choir and is a member of the National Honor Society. She received an award in the District III Honors choir.

The April student of the month at Bluffton High School is Marley Runk, daughter of Tim and Megan Runk. Marley is a junior at Bluffton with a 4.000 gpa. She is involved in Drama club, Latin Club, National Honor Society, Show Choir, Concert Choir, Chamber Choir and is on the yearbook staff.
He taught public school for 46 years - mostly in Bluffton, except for a brief span in Hawaii - so chances are good that if you attended Bluffton you probably came in contact he him.
Several years ago the Icon interviewed “Mr. Kooker” about his early years teaching in Bluffton elementary. This is a brief section of the interview. The entire interview will be published in a book about Bluffton in the 1950s to be released later.
Bluffton resident Inara Brubaker was awarded an honorary degree from Ohio Northern University, Ada, during the ONU commencement on May 8.
Brubaker retired in 2002 from the UOP/AlliedSignal (now Honeywell International) Research Center.
From 1996-2002, Brubaker was a senior research associate with UOP; from 1988 to 1996, she was project leader and research manager at AlliedSignal.
Her work was in applied research in analytical chemistry and separations, ranging from feed to effluent treatment and purification, and in materials properties and recycling.
