Bertie will celebrate her 100th birthday on Friday, April 10. She was born the youngest of 10 children to Charles and Louisa Ramga Shrider near Lafayette, Ohio, in 1915, graduated from Lafayette High School in 1932, and married Frederick Swank of Bluffton in 1943.

A Leukemia and Lymphoma benefit assists the daughter of a former Bluffton resident from 7 to 9 p.m., Friday, April 10, at the Bluffton Sportsmen's Club, Spring Street.

There is a campaign going on in the struggle against blood diseases, and it’s being headed by Tim Sargent and his daughter, Maddie, wife Cara, and daughter Ashley.

The Easter Bunny is coming to Bluffton on Saturday.

Mennonite Home Communities of Ohio (MHCO) and Jerry Lewis’ McDonald’s will host their annual Easter Egg Hunt at 10 a.m. sharp, Saturday, March 28, at Mennonite Memorial Home, 410 W. Elm St., Bluffton.

The Easter egg hunt will take place come rain or shine. There will be no rain date.
Children ages 8 and under are invited to come, hunt for hidden eggs, register for prizes, gift baskets and have their parents take their pictures with the Easter Bunny.
