Irene Miller, whose birthday is May 5, is the May resident of the month at Richland Manor, 7400 Swaney Road, Bluffton.
She graduated from Beaverdam High School and in 1935 married Harold Miller. The couple had two sons. She also has several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
She is one of several Richland Manor residents with May birthdays.

Volunteers are needed to deliver Mobile Meals within the Bluffton community. One driver is needed on the second Tuesday of each month and another driver is needed on the third Friday of each month.
Delivering meals takes only a little over one-half of a hour. This assists people in need and is very rewarding for volunteers.

As part of the on-going art gallery at the Mennonite Memorial Home, local artists Lois and Gary Wetherill have a variety of their work on display.
On the third floor at MMH, Lois has a sampling of her 'Penny Rugs' that she has created. Based on both traditional and contemporary designs, Lois' 'Penny Rugs' are completely hand-sewn using wool and wool felt.

You are at Duke. Tell us about your work there.
I am the Director of the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at Duke University, an organization that provides about 300 courses per year in the humanities, sciences, and wellness to 1,600 members, most of whom are aged 50 and above. I also teach courses in Celtic culture and religion.
Give us the short version of how you came to Duke.
Andrew Reynolds is the new store manager of Bluffton's Cellular Central, 142 E. Jefferson St. Reynolds is a six-year employee with the wireless retailer.
Prior to managing the Bluffton store, he was district manager over 11 Cellular Central stores. He helped open stores in Bluffton, Delphos and Fostoria. When he started with Cellular Central the company had eight stores. Today it has 42 and continues to expand.
In addition to Reynolds, Cellular Central Bluffton employees are Andy Walles, Kyle Roby and Jared Gesler, all account executives.

Dr. Steve Jacoby, retired Bluffton University music professor, suggested that the Icon interview the two Bluffton graduates who played the part of Harold Hill in previous campus productions of the "The Music Man." We thought Steve had a great idea, so we caught up with the two previous Harold Hills - Mark Thompson (1972) and Dan Basinger (1995).
