Seventy-five Bluffton High School seniors were transformed into graduates at May 28 commencement ceremonies in the school gym. Family and friends attended the event which began with a slide and video show of graduates--as they appear today and their baby pictures.

A welcome address including Pirate jokes was provided by Luke Shadle.

On occasion, we can't resist a good story swap with the Ada Icon. Here's a slice of local history recounted at an Ada Historical Society event. In turn we sent Ada readers our item on super-cyclist Mike Rhonemus.

The May student of the month at Bluffton High School is Ethan Bogart, son of Nathan Bogart of Pandora and Janelle Bogart of Bluffton. Ethan is a senior at Bluffton High school.  He was a member of the football team, cross country team (freshman year) and is currently on the track team. He was a state finalist in the 4x400 relay in 2021 and is advancing to state in the 4x400 relay and 300 hurdles. He is also in a bowling league.

Commencement Ceremonies will be livestreamed at

The program will start with a slideshow at 6:40 p.m. on Saturday, May 28, followed by the ceremony at 7:00 p.m.

Congratulations, graduates, from the Bluffton Icon!

Hancock County’s Cory-Rawson High School took home both the ODOT choice award and people’s choice award in a clean sweep of the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) District 1’s annual Paint the Plow contest. The plow’s artwork honors Bluffton Police Department Officer Dominic Francis.
