Alven and Marilyn Osting will be celebrating their 70th wedding anniversary on July 4, 2022. Alven and Marilyn were married July 4,1952 at Delphos St. John’s Church in Delphos.
They also will each be celebrating their 90th birthdays later this year. Marilyn was born October 28, 1931 and Alven was born November 15, 1931. They share four boys and one girl, Phil, Jeff, Rob, Chris and Cheryl.
In late May, Mr. Armstrong’s and Mrs. Raeburn's third grade classes at Bluffton Elementary School were taken to Sauder Village in Archbold by bus driver Larry Diller.
This was Diller's very last field trip assignment. He has now retired from bus driving, after 12 years of service to the Bluffton Exempted Village Schools district.
On June 4 GROB Systems Inc. held an orientation and signing day for its newest class of apprentices. Forty-one apprentices and their families were invited to the Bluffton manufacturing plant event at 1070 Navajo Dr. The event prepared them for their first day of work on June 13 and gave everyone a chance to tour the facility where GROB produces universal (5-axis) machining centers that are used by high-precision industries including automotive, medical, aerospace, mold and die.
Dr. Charles Daws, Bluffton University professor of chemistry, has been granted a sabbatical for fall 2022.
He will work with the Bureau of Criminal Investigation’s crime lab at Bowling Green State University on research projects such as improving testing techniques and sensitivity for BCI tools.
