Steven Neely, Bluffton High School junior, is the Icon's artist of the month for April.
He has taken Ceramics 1 and Ceramics 2. Following high school he says that he is considering engineering as a college major. The three animals in the photo with him are some that he says that he's always found interesting.
"I enjoy art because I find that it is a good way to express creativity," says Steven. Vickie Garmon is the Bluffton High School art teacher.
It’s obvious that Bluffton first graders love to read.
The students held a three-week March Madness reading incentive competition last month.
During the competition, students in Mrs. Combs’ class earned first place overall, reading 1,848 books.
At the conclusion of the reading madness a total of 7,467 books were read, and the teachers told the Icon that they are impressed and proud of all the hard-working first grade readers.
