Discussion centers on attention-getting videos and window display - but you are in for a lot more

This Bluffton Center for Entrepreneurs edition of “Fifteen Minutes With...” is a video installment with Chrissy Lugibihl and Janette Reinke of the Et Cetera Shop. Watch the video at the bottom of this story.

The BCE asked for tips on producing attention-getting videos and window displays, as well as for background information on the thrift shop located at 327 N. Main St., phone (419) 358-4201.

Meet this year's junior high pi champions - Mackay and June

At some point in your school mathematics journey you discovered that mysterious constant called “Pi.”

It’s the ratio of a circle’s circumference to its diameter and most commonly known by the number 3.14.

And, with March 14 (third month, 14th day of the year) proclaimed as National Pi Day, math teachers use it as a teaching tool.

Here’s how Dina Tadena, Bluffton seventh grade math teacher uses the day.

You've probably met her at Et Cetera, where she volunteers; or at BFR where she walks

Note: June Fields, of 4495 N. Phillips Road, Harrod, provided the Icon with her journey as a double organ recipient. April is Donate Life Month. June encourages families to have a talk about organ donation. Several questions and answers about this subject are at the bottom of the feature.

My name is June Fields and I live near Bluffton and come into town often to shop, bank, eat or volunteer at the Et Cetera Shop, so you may have seen me out and about.

Caitlin Dailey, Delaney Maple, Kylie Monday and Libby Frazier

During the 2012-13 school year, the Icon posted a series of interviews with Bluffton third graders. We’ve revisited one of those interviews eight school years later, thanks to BHS student Tayler Nowak-Valentine, who completed a follow-up interview this month. She also took the follow-up photo.

The four students interviewed were Caitlin Dailey, Delaney Maple, Kylie Monday and Libby Frazier, now juniors at Bluffton HS.

Riley Pearson: “I enjoy art because it allows me to express my emotions and thoughts in a creative way."

Riley Pearson, Bluffton High School sophomore, is the Icon’s March artist of the month.

Riley’s state award-winning snowplow drawing was the featured photo on the Icon yesterday.

She has taken Art 1 and Art design/com.

“I plan to go to college and have some type of art major,” she said. “I would love to go into animation or illustration.”
