The Bluffton Schools Board of Education approved the Fiscal Year 2027 Appropriation Resolution Report provided by Treasurer Paula Parrish on Monday, July 20. The total of funds available for spending is $26.09M. Parrish notes that this is the total amount approved for spending and that actual expenditures may be less than this amount.

Bluffton Council has approved a public event permit for the August 29 Bluffton Porch Fest/Play Music on the Porch Day. This is the third annual event, which coordinates live music performances in neighborhood settings as part of an international celebration.
The first two Bluffton Porch Fest events did not apply for a permit, which officially provides Village permission to play amplified music. The permit also provides location and start and end time guidance for Bluffton Police officers responding to inquiries and complaints.
EXCERPT FROM MINUTES__On June 11, Hancock County Engineer Doug Cade informed the Trustees that ODOT had been in contact with him about a proposed US 30 overpass on CR 15 (Between CR 1 and CR 304). This overpass was initiated due to a recent fatality at that intersection. As part of the proposed overpass at CR 15 ODOT proposes to close TR 51 and TR 52 access to US 30. Note: ODOT can close the median (make right-turn-only access to US 30) but can't close the road access (put in a cul-de-sac) unless the township agrees to the closure. Orange Township will need to respond to ODOT's TR51 and TR52 closure proposal (answer to Doug Cade) by August 1.

TREASURER’S REPORT
Treasurer Paula Parish provided a report, noting that the FY’ 2024-2025 audit was clean and completed by the Auditors of the State of Ohio. The Bluffton Public Library budget starting May 26, 2026 through January 1, 2027 was presented to the Board.

Mayor Rich Johnson conducted the June 22 Village of Bluffton council meeting, which had no legislation on the agenda. There were wide-ranging discussions including recreation, residential and business property developments, and public event permits.
The Monday, June 8 regular meeting of the Village of Bluffton council was chaired by Mayor Rich Johnson with all members present. Among the issues discussed were a new downtown sidewalk safety zone, detour changes at the SR 103 roundabout at Navajo Dr., and plans for August 4 National Night Out celebrations.
