Today Governor DeWine shared updated data on the percentage of cases in Ohio by age group. The data shows a significant increase in positive cases among younger adults over the summer, particularly in the age range of 20-29.
As of Friday afternoon, there are 106,557 confirmed and probable cases of COVID-19 in Ohio and 3,784 confirmed and probable COVID-19 deaths. A total of 12,128 people have been hospitalized, including 2,755 admissions to intensive care units. In-depth data can be accessed by visiting coronavirus.ohio.gov.
Governor Mike DeWine announced Thursday, August 13, that Allen County has moved to Orange Level 2 Alert. Allen County currently meets the following two indicators:
• New cases per capita (over 50/100,000)
• Proportion of cases not in a congregate setting
In addition to the indicators Allen County’s per capita case rate dropped to 96.73 cases/100,000, below the benchmark of 100/100,000 that kept Allen County in Red Level 3 Alert last week.
The Bluffton Community Swimming Pool’s final week of operation is underway. The final day for swimming is Saturday, Aug. 15, according to Jenny Wilson, manager.
She said that the staff appreciates the extra steps taken by swimmers to ensure a safe operation in spite of the pandemic.
According to Jesse Blackburn village administrator, the pool will be pumped down next week to allow repair work on the concrete seams at the bottom of the pool.
The work, performed by Patterson Pools, Plain City, will begin on Monday, Aug. 24.
