Ohio Department of Transportation announces the following highway construction projects affecting local traffic patterns that take place the week of April 22.

Interstate 75 between Napoleon Road and the Hancock County line will be restricted to one lane in each direction through the work zone for pavement repair.

Work is being performed by the ODOT Allen County maintenance garage.

Interstate 75 over Little Riley Creek, north of Beaverdam, will be impacted minimally by maintenance work on bridges and overpasses in the following locations.

First quarter 2019 Bluffton building permits show construction projects in the village reached one-half million dollars. The exact amount is $531,200.

Seven permits were issued from Jan. 2, to March 31, according to Bryan Lloyd, assistant village administrator.

These range from one new home construction, one pool installation to driveways, a building demolition, signs, a fence and a handicap ramp.

A reminder from Bluffton schools: School will be in session Thursday, April 18, as a make-up day because of the number of snow days used this winter.

There is no school on Friday or Monday April 19-22.

Evening meeting are April 29 and May 2

The Committee for Better Schools announces two community levy informational meetings for the two renewal levies on the Bluffton Tuesday, May 7 ballot.

Meetings are:
 • Monday, April 29
• Thursday, May 2
• both meetings starting at 7 p.m. in the Elementary Library.

These meetings concern the renewal of a ½ (0.5%) percent income tax for permanent improvements for three-years and the renewal of an emergency levy of 4.244 mills for five years.
