Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) announced this week that it plans to rehabilitate rather than remove the bridges on Interstate 75, just north of State Route 103, outside of Bluffton.

The announcement was made in a letter to stakeholders in the project, which included the Village of Bluffton.

Proposal would focus on Buckeye park

The Village of Bluffton has applied for a $12,000 grant through the Johnny Appleseed Cooperative Park Improvement Grant Program, according to Jesse Blackburn, village administrator.

The request is to replace the existing swing set and add other playground and recreational equipment to the playground area at the Buckeye park.

A review team meeting is Wednesday, Dec. 12 at the park district office, Lima.

The Villagee had received over $25,000 from this funding sourse since 2016, Blackburn told Bluffton council members on Monday.
