Non-partisan discussion of issues on the mid-term election

AARP, American Association of Retire Persons, hosts a voter issue forum from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 17, at the Bluffton Senior Citizens Center, 132 N. Main St., according to Toyna Meyer, director.

The program includes a non-partisan discussion of issues on the mid-term election. It is open to the public.

The Blanchard River Watershed has received word that the U.S. EPA in Chicago has given final approval to the nine element non-point source implementation strategy plan (NPS-IS Plan) written for The Outlet-Blanchard River watershed in Hardin and Wyandot County.

The EPA requires that there be an approved NPS-IS Plan written for each 12-digit HUC watershed before that watershed can receive federal funding. There are 30 HUC-12 watersheds in the Blanchard River Watershed.

The Icon spotted LEADDOG several places around Bluffton including Maple Crest. The plate is on a white Chrysler SUV with an "I love greyhounds" sticker on the rear window.

Interstate 75 reconstruction and widening through Findlay

The following impacts to traffic related to the reconstruction and widening of Interstate 75 through Findlay and Hancock County are scheduled to occur:

Oct. 15 - Lima Avenue under U.S. 68/state Route 15 will close for approximately one year

Early November -Entrance ramp from U.S. 68/state Route 15 to Interstate 75 southbound to close for one year

Trick-or-treat night Oct. 25; fall leaf pick up starts Oct. 29
