Quilt on view at Diller Flooring

Bluffton Scrap Artist Quilters is holding a quilt raffle to benefit the proposed Heritage Center of the Swiss Historical Society. 

The quilt was pieced by Sandy Schmidt, a member of the club and machine-quilted by Ruth Grihalva of Forever In Stitches, also a member of the club. 

It measures 71-by 76-inches. It currently may be seen in the window of Diller Flooring, 119 N. Main St.

Tickets are $1 each or 6 for $5. They may be purchased at Diller Flooring,  or from any Bluffton Scrap Artist Quilters member.

Bluffton police release the following notices concerning work on Bluffton streets on Thursday, May 25:

• Bluffton Paving will be milling Eastland Drive and Westland Drive.

• Bluffton Paving will be milling East Elm Street from Huber Street To County Line Road.

• Bluffton Paving will be milling Vine Street from Main Street to Jackson Streets.

Drivers are asked not to park in these areas.

 

Saturdays and Sundays, May 27-28 and June 3-4; first housing development since Riverbend

Two weekend open houses by Bayhomes of Bluffton are planned in the Parkview Development, according to Keith McClintock of McClintock Builders.

The open houses are from 1 to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, May 27-28 and June 3-4, according to McClintock.

The houses open to the public have the following features:

This year’s 3rd annual Ride to Remember bicycle event, set for Saturday, July 8, in Bluffton, takes bike riders as far they want to go – from 2 miles to a 112-mile Gran Fondo.

Riders from past year’s come from across Ohio and neighboring states.  The village has several events going on for family members not riding, while the ride is underway.

Who ya for? The answer: both. This ONU and OSU supporter wears his school loyalty on his sleeve...or, in this case, his license plate. The two-university plate was spotted on a black Altima on ONU's campus.

On Tax Day April 19 people coming out of the Bluffton Post Office were handed a handful of beans, and asked how they would distribute federal taxes if they were in charge.

Those who participated, distributed their beans into jars labeled with categories of the federal budget.
