The Bluffton Community Swimming Pool will close at 4 p.m. on the following dates due to home swim meets:

• Thursday, June 15
• Thursday, June 22
• Monday, June 26

Here’s what you need to know about the 2017 Bluffton Community Swimming Pool season, according to Jenny Wilson, pool manager.

Hours:
Monday to Friday – noon to 8 p.m.
Saturday and Sunday – 1 to 6 p.m.

Parade, Maple Grove ceremony, chicken barbecue

Bluffton's Memorial Day observance is Monday, May 29. Here is information about the day from the Bluffton American Legion Post 382.
 
• Anyone wishing to be in the parade, be in line by 9:15 a.m.
• Time of the parade: 9:30 a.m.
• Parade line up: Bluffton town hall
• Ceremonies: Maple Grove Cemetery

• Memorial Day speaker: Tim Wilmetta, pastor of the Bluffton First United Methodist Church and chaplain for the 489th Civil Affairs Battalion, Knoxville, Tennessee.

Allen Lima Youth Leadership Class of 2018

The application deadline for next year’s Allen Lima Youth Leadership Class of 2018 is approaching, ALL Executive Director Heather Rutz said.

Students must apply online at AllenLimaLeadership.com by May 31 to be eligible for next year’s youth class.

Bluffton students in the class of 2017 were Sydney Hoff, Kayla Kindle, Rameen Omar and Aimee Ritter.

Bluffton students in the class of 2016 were Haley Baker, Jadyn Barhorst and Zane Myers.

Commencement is Saturday evening

Eight valedictorians and one salutatorian graduate in the Bluffton High School class of 2107 on Saturday.

It is the 136th annual BHS commencement. It is held in the Bluffton High School gymnasium. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. and the ceremony starts at 7 p.m.

A copy of the commencement program with the entire list of graduates is attached.  The graduation list also indicates honor students and students graduating with diploma with honors
