Bluffton's downtown Christmas garlands will be installed by the Bluffton Fire Department on Saturday, Nov. 11, starting at 8 a.m., according to Paula Scott, of the Bluffton Area Chamber of Commerce.

"If your business participates in the garland program, Fire Chief Jon Kinn asks that you place the garlands outside your location the night before. They need to be ready to go," she said.

 

October provided the Bluffton area with a temperature range of 56 degrees, according to Guy Verhoff, Pandora weather observer.

October’s high temperature reading was 85 degrees on Oct. 3. The low was 29 on Oct. 26.

The average temperature this past October was 57.2 degrees, while the October normal average is 52.5.

October’s precipitation was 2.3 inches and the normal October precipitation is 2.68 inches.

Christine Schroeder presents program at Bluffton Senior Center

Christine Schroeder of Healthe Habits for Living will present a free lunch and learn for seniors at noon on Tuesday, Nov. 14, at the Bluffton Senior Citizens Center, 132 N. Main St., Bluffton.

“Persons attending will learn how to become a healthier person,” said Schroeder, who holds a master’s of occupational therapy (MOT) degree from the University of Findlay.

She added that the program will focus on fitness and well-being and the ability to cope with everyday activities.

Her business is located in Ellerbrock Spine and Soft Tissue, 120 Main St., Suite A, Bluffton.

Free lunch and learn on Nov. 12 focus on fitness and well-being

The Bluffton Senior Citizens Association will recognize life-long area residents, Russel Suter and Harley Steiner in November. Both association members turn 90 this month and both will receive life memberships in the organization, according to Tonya Meyer, director.

Their recognition is at 6 p.m., Monday, Nov. 13, at the Center, 132 N. Main St., during this month’s dinner meeting.

During the meeting members will recognize 26 members who died from last November to the end of October. The list of members is in the newsletter attached to this story.

Eleven business have sometime special for you

It’s a big downtown Bluffton shopping weekend.

Gift certificate drawings, merchandise discounts, free gifts and free copies of a new children’s book take place Friday and Saturday, Nov. 3-4, in the annual Downtown Bluffton Christmas Open House.
