Bluffton has lots to offer this weekend - here's the schedule

What are your Saturday Bluffton plans? There’s a lot going on. Here’s a sampling:

• Farmers’ Market, Citizens National Bank parking lot, South Main Street.
From 8:30 a.m. to noon, the final market of the season is Saturday, Oct. 29.

• Cars and Coffee
The final cars and coffee of the season is from 8 to 11 a.m., Saturday, according to Tim Boutwell of Heated Vehicle Storage, 906 N. Main St.

However, the May primary shows there is room for doubt

If history is the guide, the majority of Bluffton and Richland Township voters will support the Republican presidential candidate on Nov. 8.

But, as the May primary results show, there is room for doubt in the election.

However, The Icon’s analysis of presidential voting patterns here since 1908 reflecting history as the guide will probably mean a Republican win.

Volunteers needed - contact Lynda Best

Lynda Best of the village cultural affairs committee invites anyone from the community to help setting up the Ream holiday folk art display on the Presbyterian Church lawn.

"We are getting ready to set up the Blaze and could use some help," she said. "The lights go up on the Saturday, Nov. 5, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and the display is set up on Saturday, Nov. 12, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m."

Lunch will be provided to volunteers.

"We can use the help very much if someone can only give us a couple hours we would appreciate it," she said. Contac Best 419-296-2790.

Center of Bluffton without power this morning

It was the sound of three “booms” and then the lights went out, at approximately 9 a.m.

A center section of Bluffton is without electrical power this morning. The outage covers the area between Main, Grove, Lawn and Elm. The two largest areas affected are all businesses on the west side of Main Street and the Bluffton elementary, middle and high school.

The stoplight at the intersection of Main and Cherry is also out of power.

Temperatures in the past week have been unseasonably warm, according to Guy Verhoff, Pandora weather observer.

In the past seven days the “lowest” high degree was 61 on Oct. 13.

Meanwhile, the lowest temperature seemed more seasonable at 42 on Oct. 14 and Oct. 15.
