Beck's Hybrids recognizes L&S Farms

L&S Farms, Pandora, received recognition from Beck's Hybrids at a district STAR dealership dinner. L&S, which includes Tim Schumacher, Josh Schumacher and Jeff Lugibihl, was recognized for their recommentation to number soybeans, a process now used company wide.

Beck's has been family owned and operated since 1937, and is the largest family-owned, retail see company in the United States.

Bluffton chamber invites individuals to join and help promote the community

Bluffton Area Chamber of Commerce launches its new membership drive for 2015-16 on Sept. 1.

With the drive the chamber also launches into several fall activities.

The first chamber breakfast of the fall is Friday, Sept. 11, at 7 a.m. in the Bluffton town hall third floor. The meeting will include an update on several chamber events that have taken place this summer. In addition, several new members and new Bluffton businesses will be introduced.

How about placing a Lincoln Highway plate on your car?

Lincoln Highway enthusiasts may have their own Ohio license plate if enough persons pre-order the plates.

The Ohio Department of Public Safety’s Bureau of Motor Vehicles needs 150 plates reserved by Sept. 30 for the plates to be available to all Ohio residents.

Proceeds will help support the preservation and promotion of the highway, which is a few miles south of Bluffton.

Non-profit organizations event: Tools for giving seminar offered twice on Sept. 10

Several Bluffton non-profit organizations will hold an informational “Generous Living, Tools for Giving” seminar twice on Thursday, Sept. 10.

The free, one-hour seminars are:
• 10 a.m., Bluffton Senior Citizens Center, 132 N. Main St.
• 7 p.m., Bluffton town hall, third floor, 154 N. Main St.

Scott Edwards entertains Seniors on Sept. 14

Bluffton Senior Citizen Association’s September dinner meeting is at 6 p.m., Monday, Sept. 14, at the Center, 132 N. Main St., Bluffton.

Carolyn Green is the master of ceremonies and Judy Erven and friends are the hostesses. The program is Scott Edwards, who will perform on the organ.

Tickets must be purchased by Wednesday, Sept. 9.

Two community meals planned in September

Two community meals are planned at the Bluffton Senior Citizens Center in September. Meals are at 6 p.m. and are free and open to the public.

• Thursday, Sept. 3, meal is provided by the SHANNON Service Club.
• Thursday, Sept. 17, meal provided by Emmanuel United Church of Christ
