The Bluffton boys soccer team was voted the second seed at the 12-team Tiffin Columbian Div. III sectional/district draw.
As such, Northwest Conference champion Bluffton (8-6-1) received a first round bye. The Pirates will host the Oct. 19 winner between fifth seed Milan Edison and 12th seed Mansfield St. Peter's Saturday, Oct. 22 at noon in one sectional final.
That sectional final winner then advances to the Tiffin district semifinals October 26 at 7 p.m.
The Bluffton High School volleyball team won the first two sets, but visiting backyard rival Allen East rallied to take the final three to capture their Northwest Conference season finale showdown Tuesday evening, October 11.
The tough loss dropped the overall Bluffton record to 13-8, and they finished 4-4 in the league to end up fifth in the nine-team league.

KALIDA—The Bluffton University women's golf team shot a 357 on Sunday, Oct. 9, en route to a 4th place finish at the HCAC Preview. The Beavers went 354 and 357 for a 711 total which is the 4th best 36-hole score in Bluffton history.
Firing an 84 on Sunday after an 81 on Saturday, sophomore Kiley Cline (Fostoria/Hopewell Louden) took 2nd place with a 165 which is 4th all-time for the Beavers! Also showing out at the HCAC Preview was Allie Waggener (Hilliard/Hilliard Bradley) who followed up her 85 from round one with another 85 on Sunday for 170 and a 6th place finish.

Toledo Edison (9-4-1) is the fourth seed and if form holds, would face Bluffton in the district semifinals Oct. 25 at 7:15 p.m. on the Steinmetz Field pitch.
