Sportsmanship award goes to Bluffton - voted by all coaches

BLUFFTON - The Bluffton swim team finished a strong second out of eight teams at the 39th annual Elks West Ohio Aquatic League championship meet held Friday and Saturday at the Bluffton pool.

Perennial power Westside won the combined team meet with 2,964 points to nose out the hosts, who scored 2,779.5 points.

Westside out-pointed Bluffton 1,421.5 points to 1,357 to win the girls team crown, and also won the boys team standings 1,542.5 points to 1,422.5 over the Sardines.

After the first day of competition Bluffton Sardines swim team is vying for the lead in the Western Ohio Aquatics League championships

Westwood Swim and Racket Club is the overall leader with 1,445 points. Bluffton follows within striking distance at 1,391.5 points – 53.5 points behind the leader.

Pandora-Gilboa vs. Bluffton HS football rivalry returns after 54 season absence

It’s July, but let’s talk fall Bluffton High School sports.

Alex Hanna, BHS athletic director, released the fall sports schedules, attached at the bottom of this story.

One rivalry of the past is back on the BHS football schedule as the Pirates host Pandora-Gilboa on Friday, Sept. 6, in a non-conference game.

There's still time to register

There's still time to sign up for Bluffton Soccer Club for the fall, which includes the 2019-20 season.

Open online registration is available now and ends on Sunday, June 30. To register, go to www.blufftonsoccer.com, or click here.

The cost per family is $50 for one child, $45 for the second child and $40 for the third. A $25 late fee is charged after June 30 if spots are still available.

Joy Savage Harris, 2004 Bluffton High School graduate, ran in her first-ever triathalon.

She competed in the Rock Hall Sprint Triathalon held in Silver Spring, Maryland, on June 2.
