Ada varsity assistant Rick Sherrick, a long-time coach in the area, also resigns

FROM ADA ICON - With basketball season just around the corner, Ada boys head coach Dre White surprisingly announced he was stepping down from his post after four seasons as Bulldog mentor this week.

"First and foremost I would like to thank Ken Jochims, the AD at the time I was hired, for taking a chance on a young coach back then," said White. 

"Coaching here the last four seasons is an experience I will value and cherish," he continued. "It was not how I envisioned my time at Ada to conclude."

COLUMBUS GROVE - The visiting Bluffton girls volleyball team lost to Columbus Grove in a tough four-set Northwest Conference volleyball match Tuesday night.

Bluffton's record dropped to 11-6 overall and 3-4 in the NWC with the close defeat. The Pirates won the second set to tie the match 1-1, but then lost the final two games.

BLUFFTON - The host Bluffton girls volleyball team swept Patrick Henry in a non-conference volleyball match Monday night.

Bluffton upped its record to 11-5 overall with the 25-20, 25-16, 28-26 victory.         PH fell to 6-8 with the defeat.
 
Kylie Stackhouse slammed 21 kills and came up with eight digs to lead the Pirate girls. Taylor Schwab contributed 13 kills and 13 digs to the sweep. 

Haelynn Bischoff also knocked down five kills.

MIDDLE POINT - The visiting Bluffton boys soccer team swamped Lincolnview 7-1 Monday night in Northwest Conference play to clinch at least a tie for the league crown.

Bluffton improved to 12-0-1 and 4-0 in the NWC with the victory. The Lancers dropped to 2-7-4 and 1-4 in the NWC with the loss.

KALIDA - The Bluffton cross country teams competed at the Kalida Wildcat Invitational Saturday morning. The boys' varsity team came in 7th out of 23 teams with a score of 198.

KALIDA - The visiting Bluffton girls soccer team shut out Kalida 2-0 in a non-league game late Saturday morning.

Streaking Bluffton improved to 10-2-1 overall with their ninth consecutive win. Kalida fell to 6-6 with the defeat.

The match was scoreless in the first half. 

Pirate Sami Scoles then struck for the game's first goal in the 61st minute. Clara Matthews followed with the second goal seven minutes later to put the game out of reach.

Rebekah Hoff passed out one assist for Bluffton.
