Stackhouse topped the Pirate girls with 21 kills and three blocks

BLUFFTON - The homestanding Bluffton volleyball team easily swept non-league foe Arlington Tuesday night. 

Bluffton improved to 4-2 with the convincing 25-19, 25-6, 25-17 win. Arlington (0-6) stayed winless with the defeat.

Junior Kylie Stackhouse topped the Pirate girls with 21 kills and three blocks. Taylor Schwab knocked down nine kills, and also recorded 11 digs and two aces. 

Setter Skyler Scoles dished up 29 assists. Kylie Monday hustled her way to 17 digs, while Sophie Bricker mustered up 10 digs.

BLUFFTON - Visiting Allen East came back from an early 14-point deficit to defeat feisty county rival Bluffton 46-22 in a Northwest Conference battle on a pleasant Friday night at Harmon Field.

Defending league tri-champion AE improved to 2-0 (2-0 NWC East) with the come from behind victory. The Pirates fell to 0-2 overall and 0-2 in the NWC East with the defeat. 

The upset-minded Pirates scored on ther first two drives to lead 14-0. But AE did not panic, and they rallied to score 33 unanswered points and take control.

Spallinger and Schriner score twice; Antrim and Basil once

 BLUFFTON - The homestanding Bluffton boys soccer team whipped Jonathan Alder 6-1 Saturday evening at Steinmetz Field. 

The Pirates improved to 4-0 with the lopsided win. Defending state runner-up Bluffton was ranked first in the first regional Northwest Ohio Scholastic Soccer Coaches Association Div. III poll released this week. 

Bluffton junior Jude Spallinger and senior Jonathan Schriner each scored two first-half goals to pace the Pirates to victory. Spallinger also doled out three assists, while Schriner dished out two assists.

LIMA - The Bluffton girls tennis team competed in the Elida Invitational tournament Saturday at the Denny Schwinnen Courts. 

The four-team event included Bluffton, Celina, Elida and Van Wert. Van Wert was victorious at singles and "A" doubles, and narrowly captured the Invitational team title by one point over Celina.

Bluffton High School boys' soccer team is ranked number 1 in the first Northwest Ohio Scholastic Soccer Coaches Association poll of the season for Division III schools. To view each of division rankings scroll to the bottom of this story.

BLUFFTON - The Bluffton girls soccer team tied visiting Van Buren 1-1 Thursday evening.

The Lady Pirates ran their season record to 1-2-1 with the tie. The Black Knight mark is now 0-2-1.
 
After a scoreless first half, Bluffton's Riley Eachus put the hosts on top 1-0 with a goal in the 49th minute off an assist from Reagan Mittendorf.

But Van Buren's Anna Durliat tied it 20 minutes later, and neither team could score over the final 11 minutes to end the match in a tie.
