12 wrestlers placed in top 5 of their class

The Pirate Cutthroat wrestling team has won the 2018 Allen County Invitational held at LCC this past weekend.

 Deandre Nassar (195) and Tayton Kleman (106) each won their class and all but one Pirate wrestlers placed in the top 5 of their class to earn the team win.

The Pirates competed against larger schools such as Elida, Shawnee, Bath and Lima Senior in addition to other Division III schools Allen East, Spencerville, Jefferson, LCC, and Delphos St John’s.

Bluffton High School boys' basketball team stands 4-0 after defeating Crestview 43-41 at home. Luke Denecker led the Pirates with 19 points. Go to www.blufftonpirate.com for an after-the-game celebration video.

Girls' basketball final score: Bluffton 51 - Crestview 35
Bluffton outscored Crestview 15-2 in the third quarter to take a 35-23 lead. Crestview led at halftime 21-20. Watch the Icon for a report from www.blufftonpirates.com

(VAN BUREN) - It's three road games and three wins for the Bluffton boys' basketball team.  Junior Mason Soper ripped a steal and made the game winning bucket at the buzzer pushing Bluffton to a thrilling 57-55 victory at Van Buren!  Bluffton improved to 3-0 on the season and finally gets a home game against reigning conference champion Crestview Friday night.

Bluffton got a huge game from their starting backcourt in a 62-52 road win at Bath.  Juniors Jared Piercefield scored 21 points and Luke Denecker 19 for the Pirates.
