The National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) announced the 2019-20 NABC Honors Court, recognizing more than 1,350 men’s collegiate basketball student-athletes who excelled in academics during the past season.
The Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) had 13 student athletes amongst its ranks. The NABC Honors Court highlights the talents and gifts that these men possess on the court and the hard work they exhibit in the classroom. In order to be named to the Honors Court, a student-athlete must meet a high standard of academic criteria.
The announcement was released by the Hall, located in Atlanta, Ga., earlier this week.
Ramseyer, a 1954 Bluffton High School and 1958 Bluffton College graduate, has more than 30 years of coaching experience, compiling a career college football record of 176–104–4.
Ohio Lt. Governor Husted also announced that Phase II of the Responsible RestartOhio plan for sports activities will allow contact practice for all sports to resume on Monday, June 22.
"This means football, lacrosse, and other contact sports can resume scrimmages and full training regiments as long as safety protocols are observed," said Lt. Governor Husted.
"Although June 22 is the day contact practice may begin, it will ultimately be up to local sports organizers and high school leaders on when is the best time to proceed."
The Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference presidential and athletic leadership groups remain optimistic that the HCAC will be able to safely conduct fall athletic competition.
HCAC institutions are finalizing plans and protocols regarding students returning to campuses for the fall term.
Following those announcements, the HCAC plans to provide updates to the public on athletic activities at regular 15-day intervals until the start of the fall seasons.
The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology has won the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) Men's All-Sports Trophy following the completion of the 2019-20 season. This is the Fightin' Engineers 11th title since the awards inception.
Rose-Hulman had a well-rounded year, capturing men's soccer and men's indoor track and field titles. The Fightin' Engineers also took second place in men's cross country, football and men's swimming and diving.
Director of Athletics Jeff Jenkins is at the helm of the athletic department at Rose-Hulman.
Hanover College was named the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) Women's All-Sports Champion following the 2019-20 campaign. The Panthers accumulated 62.3 points in the standings to garner the award, capturing their ninth overall women's title.
