BLUFFTON - Playing their second Crestview opponent in a row, the Bluffton girls soccer team lost 1-0 to visiting Ashland Crestview in a non-conference defensive struggle Wednesday evening.

The Lady Pirates fell to 9-6-1 with the defeat, two days after they beat league foe Convoy Crestview 5-0. The powerhouse Lady Cougars improved to 15-0-1 with the win.

AC's Carley Campo scored the game's only goal five minutes into the match via an assist by Kat Leeper. Both defenses kept the offenses off the scoreboard for the final 75 minutes.

Visiting Lima Central Catholic swept Bluffton in a non-conference volleyball match Tuesday night.

Bluffton fell to 11-10 with the 25-7, 25-18, 25-23 defeat, their fourth loss in a row.

Sophomore Kylie Stackhouse led the Lady Pirate offense with 11 kills and two blocks. Versatile junior Taylor Schwab amassed nine kills and nine digs.

Sophomore setter Skyler Scoles passed out 23 assists. Senior Joscelin Reineke and sophomore Kylie Monday each came up with 10 digs.

Haelynn Bischoff contributed two blocks.

Thursday NWC showdown at Allen East

The Bluffton boys soccer team tied Kalida 1-1 in a defensive battle Tuesday evening.

The Pirates ran their record to 11-2-2 with the tie.

Jayden Mays netted the lone Bluffton goal eight minutes into the fray. The Pirates carried that 1-0 lead to intermission.

Clay Bellmann of Kalida netted the equalizing goal two minutes into the second half, and the game was then scoreless over the final 38 minutes.

CONVOY - The visiting Bluffton girls soccer team blanked Crestview 5-0 for a decisive Northwest Conference win Monday evening.

The Lady Pirates improved to 9-5-1 and 5-1 against league opponents with the victory. Clara Matthews and Laykin Garmatter each netted a pair of goals to pace the victory.

The game was scoreless for the first 30 minutes when the Bluffton offense began to find the back of the net.

BHS has first-round bye; will entertain Mansfield St. Peter's on Oct. 17

FINDLAY - The Bluffton girls soccer team was seeded fifth at the 11-team Division III Findlay sectional drawing held Sunday.

The Lady Pirates (8-5-1) were voted a first round bye and will host seventh-seeded Mansfield St. Peter's Thursday, Oct. 17, at 5 p.m.

If results go according to seed, the Pirate/MSP victor will then face top seed Liberty-Benton Tuesday, October 22, at 5 p.m. at Findlay High School in the district semis.

After first round bye, BHS will entertain Otsego or Woodmore Oct. 19

TIFFIN - The Bluffton boys' soccer team (11-2-1) was seeded first at the 12-team Division III Tiffin sectional drawing held Sunday.

Top seed Bluffton earned a first round bye and will play the winner between 11th seed Otsego and 12th seed Woodmore Saturday, Oct. 19, at Bluffton in the second round.

The winner advances to the district semifinals Oct. 23.

The team was ranked third in the Division 3 of the Northwest Ohio Soccer Coaches Association poll last week. Bluffton is behind Ottawa Hills and Maumee Valley Country Day.
