HARROD - The Bluffton football team went to Goodwin Field and lost 42-7 to local rival Allen East in a surprisingly lopsided Northwest Conference contest Friday.
AE raced to a 28-0 halftime lead as Bryce Belcher ran for three touchdowns and passed for one score. Belcher ended up with four rushing TDs and two passing scores to lead AE to victory.
The Pirates fell to 3-4 overall and 1-3 in the NWC after their third loss in a row. The Mustangs improved to 6-1 and 3-1 in league play with the win.

HARROD - The Bluffton boys' soccer team went on the road and won their fifth consecutive Northwest Conference championship with a 2-0 shutout win at Allen East Thursday evening.
The Pirates improved their record to 12-2-2 overall and 5-0 in the NWC with the first-place showdown win. AE fell to 6-7-1 and 4-1 in the NWC with the defeat, good for second place in the six-team league.

VAN BUREN - The Bluffton volleyball team dropped a four-set match at Van Buren in a non-league battle Wednesday evening to end the regular season.
The Lady Pirates dropped to 11-11 after their fifth consecutive defeat. VB took the first set 25-15, then Bluffton evened the match with a 26-24 win in set two.
But the Black Knights won the final two games by identical scores of 25-17, 25-17 to improve their record to 16-4.

BLUFFTON - Playing their second Crestview opponent in a row, the Bluffton girls soccer team lost 1-0 to visiting Ashland Crestview in a non-conference defensive struggle Wednesday evening.
The Lady Pirates fell to 9-6-1 with the defeat, two days after they beat league foe Convoy Crestview 5-0. The powerhouse Lady Cougars improved to 15-0-1 with the win.
AC's Carley Campo scored the game's only goal five minutes into the match via an assist by Kat Leeper. Both defenses kept the offenses off the scoreboard for the final 75 minutes.
