BHS runners continue to hold five regional meet records - see the list

Bluffton High School boys’ track team advances six athletes to the Division III state track and field meet this week in Columbus.

BHS boys finished third in the Tiffin regional. The top five team places follow:

1 – Eastwood, 84 points
2 – Montpelier, 41 points
3 – Bluffton, 38 points
4 - Liberty Center, 29 points
5 - Patrick Henry, 28 points

The Bluffton High School boys' track team finished three points from runner-up in the Division III regional meet at Tiffin.

One Bluffton High School boys' track team advanced to the state track meet - so far.

Finals for most regional events, held at Tiffin, take place today.

The finals for the boys 4 x 800 relay is completed and the BHS team of Isaac Andreas, senior, Luke Young, sophomore, Baylor Garmatter, freshman, and Christopher Harnish, junior, finished fourth to qualify for the state meet.

First - Eastwood, 8:12.50
Second - Montplier, 8:13.5
Third - Riverdale, 8:16.31
Fourth - Bluffton, 8:17.04

Bluffton High School Pirate youth football camp takes place Tuesday to Thursday, July 11 to 13, according to Jeff Richards, varsity football coach.

The camp is open first through sixth graders (2017-18 school year). Cost is $30 per camper. A registration form is attached.

Bluffton High School's track and field teams had an outstanding day at the Findlay Division III district meet.

The boys' won the district and the girls finished third.

Five Bluffton High School softball players received all-Northwest Conference honors this week.

Averey Rumer, sophomore, was named to the all-NWC first team. Katie Prater, sophomore, was named to the all-NWC second team.

BHS honorable mentions were Jazmynn Wilson, senior, Abbie Parkins, senior, and Libby Schaadt, freshman.

Senior Ariana Schmiedebusch, a pitcher from Allen East, was named Player of the Year. Allen East coach Bill Mattevi was named Coach of the Year at the all-conference selection meeting Monday evening in Delphos.
