Sam Fruchey, Bluffton HS grad, helped the Malone University Pioneers notch their first postseason victory since 2002 last week. She was named Malone's athlete of the week.

The freshman pitcher appeared in all three of Malone's games at the G-MAC Tournament, allowing just one unearned run over 9.2 innings of work.

In Malone's opening game against top-seeded Cedarville, Fruchey entered the contest in the bottom of the sixth inning with runners at second and third and no outs.  The freshman worked out of trouble in the inning, keeping the game dead-locked at 2-2.

Bluffton High School’s boys’ tennis team toppled two worthy opponent in recent matches, beating Archbold 3-2 and Wauseon by the same score.

Bluffton stood 11-1 overall after the wins. Archbold fell to 10-2. Wauseon’s record was not available.

Bluffton High School’s softball team completed dominated its most recent three opponents.

The Pirates stopped Riverdale 12-2, Lima Central Catholic 12-2 and Delphos Jefferson 14-4.

Libby Schaadt, BHS pitcher, is now 12-5 on the season. Bluffton’s box scores are attached.

Bluffton High School’s baseball team won one of its recent four games.

Bluffton defeated Cory-Rawson 11-4 at home. In that game Bricker had 3 singles, Edwards 2 singles and Rayle had 4 runs batted in.

The Pirates lost two games by one run each, losing to Lima Central Catholic 1-0 and to Delphos Jefferson 5-4.

Earlier in the week, Perry defeated Bluffton 10-1 and Riverdale beat the Pirates 18-1.

The latest victim was Wapakoneta, as the Pirates swept the WBL team 5-0.

Team stands 8-1 after capturing Lima Sr. Tournament

Bluffton High’s boys’ tennis team continues on a record-setting pace this season. On April 22 it captured the Lima Senior High boys’ tennis tournament trophy with some impressive scoring.
