Christmas cheer went out to 56 families in the Bluffton school district, thanks to efforts of the Bluffton Community Assistance Program's "Adopt A Family" program. Volunteer donors provided gifts, food and essential items to the families being assisted by the program.

Carols, Candlelight, and the Christ Child will be the focus of the Christmas Candlelight Services at the Pandora United Methodist Church.

There will be an early service on Thursday, Dec. 20 at 7:00 p.m., with music beginning at 6:30 p.m.  

The Christmas Eve service will be Monday, Dec. 24 at 9:00 p.m. with music beginning at 8:30 p.m.  

Both of these services are patterned after the Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols. 

Ebenezer Mennonite Church children’s choir, Disciple Singers, will present a Christmas musical titled “Spread The Goods News” Sunday, Dec. 9. at 6:30 p.m. 

The program will also include the Cherubs choir, bell choir, and a song combining the Disciple Singers and the adult choir. 

The church is located at 8905 Columbus Grove Bluffton Road, Bluffton.  An afterglow will beheld following the program.

Two community meals are planned for December at the Bluffton Senior Ciitzen's Center.  The meals are Thursday, Dec. 6 and Thursday, Dec. 20 and each takes place at 6 p.m.

Meals are free and open to the public. All donations go to support the Bluffton Food Pantry.

The host church for Dec. 6 is St. Mary's Catholic Church. The  host church for Dec. 20 is Trinty Methodist Church.

 

First Mennonite Church, Bluffton,  held a “Hymnal Celebration/Chairity Event” at the church on Nov. 11. It was an evening of music presented by a variety of groups, including its adult choir, piano, dulcimer, trumpet, string quartet, guitar by children, youth and adults. The evening included singing by the congregation.
