Mary and Kevin Gratz, of Richland Drive, are September's recipients of Garden of The Month for America In Bloom (AIB). They have successfully integrated several mixed containers of annuals, perennials, and vegetables in a stunning display that is both beautiful and functional. 

 

Here, Mary Gratz is presented an AIB certificate and Stratton's gift card  by Mayor Rich Johnson.

Mercy Health – St. Rita’s will honor the Sisters of Mercy at its annual Mercy Club Reception being held Wednesday, Sept. 26. This celebration honors those in the community, businesses, individuals, our employees, volunteers/auxiliary and medical staff, who continually provide support to its community.

St. Rita’s is celebrating 100 years of serving its community and so chose to recognize the work of the Sisters of Mercy, who founded St. Rita’s a century ago.

Saturday's Fall Festival drew what may be the largest crowd ever in the 14 years of the one-day Bluffton event. Face painting was among the popular activities for youth. Watch the Icon for lots of Fall Festival photos like this one by Jamie Nygaard.

Bluffton High School celebrates its 2018 homecoming this weekend. Here are members of the court. (A photo and bio of the drivers will be posted tomorrow.)

Skyler Scoles is the daughter of Jeremy and Stephanie Scoles. She is a member of the volleyball and track teams and is a freshman representative on student senate.  She attends Ebenezer Mennonite Church and is in its youth group.  Skyler is employed as a licensed soccer referee.

Bethany Theis of Bluffton recently joined the sales team of Cole Humphrey Insurance, 115 N. Main St., Ada.

Theis, licensed since 2008, has held various positions in the insurance industry.

 “My experience in these positions ensure customers that I will provide you the expertise to handle all of your insurance needs,” she said.

Working through Cole Humphrey, an independent agency, Theis can offer insurance products from wide array of companies.

The Gardeners of the Bluffton Pandora Area next program is a presentation by Tim Brugeman, Hancock County Master Gardener volunteer.

The program is at 6:30 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 2, in the Bluffton Public Library. Additional information about the club is in the attached newsletter.
