Exterior masonry maintenance is underway on the Bluffton town hall by E. Lee Construction, Inc., Delphos. The work involves cleaning the building, tuck-pointing, brick replacement, stone repair, sealants/caulk joints replaced, cleaning windows and adding a coat of water repellent. Two grave marking services for Revolutionary War veterans buried in the Bluffton and Pandora communities takes place on Saturday.
The two are Hezekiah Bloomfield Hubbell, buried in Hubbell Cemetery on Shifferly Road, rural Bluffton, and Israel Hubbard, Jr., buried in Malahan Cemetery, rural Pandora.
The Northwest Territory Chapter of the Ohio Society, Sons of the American Revolution, will conduct the services at the cemeteries, according to David Lupien of Bryan, the secretary of the chapter.
St. John’s United Church of Christ, 223 W. College Ave., Bluffton, will celebrate its 145th anniversary on Sunday, Sept. 16, according to Rev. Carol Clements, pastor.
The celebration begins with a 10:30 a.m. worship service. The Northwest Ohio Association Minister, Rev. Dan Busch, will be the speaker. Special musical selections provided by the choir and instrumentalists will enhance the celebration.
