Will link Augsburger path to bridge on Bentley, connecting to Parkview Development and on to the Dari Freeze

Construction on the Bentley Road Pathway will begin Monday, May 7, according to Jesse Blackburn, interim village administrator. 

Bentley Road will be closed from Elm Street to the access road for Bluffton University Buildings and Grounds. 

When completed, this project will extend Bluffton’s existing bicycle and pedestrian pathway network to the north westside of Bluffton near Bluffton University from where the recently completed Lions Way Augsburger path begins at the intersection of Augsburger Road and Bentley road and ends at the Maple Crest retirement community.

Rev. Charles E. Warren, 96 of Bluffton died May 6, 2018 at his daughter’s residence in Pekin, Illinois.  Arrangements are incomplete at Chiles-Laman Funeral & Cremation Services, Bluffton.

Inaugural BHS aumni flag football game stretched all the way back to 1976

Bluffton High School varsity coach Jeff Richards put together the inaugural alumni football game Friday night. 

Twenty-three former ball players took the field with graduates ranging from 1976 to 2017.  In the end, White defeated Red by a 45-42 score.  The game was well attended and proceeds were raised to start a youth flag football program which will be directed by Richards.

Bluffton University is searching for a new head coach for its cross country and track and field programs following the retirement of Head Coach Karen Brandt and her assistant coach, Jim Brandt, at the end of June.

“We appreciate Karen and Jim’s leadership since taking over the program in 2011. During that time their teams have shown tremendous growth in both depth and talent.
