Richard “Dick” Don Dukes, 85, of Pandora, died Feb. 11, 2018.

He was born in his homestead in Pandora, Ohio, on June 8, 1932, to the late Lewis Weltner and Ruth (Jones) Dukes.  He married Margaret “Peg” Fox who preceded him in death on April 23, 2013. They were married for 59 years.

Dick began working on the family farm in grade school, leaving only to attend and graduate from Findlay College where he played basketball, and went to the national championships. He continued farming with his business partner and nephew, Mike Dukes, through harvest this year.

James Clifford Davis, 68, of Lafayette, died Feb. 9, 2018, at 8:22 p.m. in his home surrounded by his family. He was born Aug. 22, 1949, in Bryan, Ohio, to Howard and Mary (Barrett) Davis who preceded him in death. On June 30, 1972, he married Agnes (Metheney) Davis who survives.

James graduated from Lima Central Catholic High School, then enlisted in the United States Army. After being honorably discharged, he found employment at Ford's Lima engine plant.

The Icon snapped this photo late in the week after one of those two-hour morning school delays. It's a elementary student headed to school on a scooter. It just proves that the two-wheeler is something that can be drive year-around.

It was a tale of two halves as the Bluffton University women’s basketball team headed to Indiana to face off against Anderson University in their last road contest of the 2017-18 regular season.

ANDERSON, Ind. - The Bluffton University men’s basketball squad hit the road and challenged the Anderson University Ravens in a huge HCAC battle. The Beavers jumped on top early, but a strong second half for the Ravens was too much for Bluffton as the visitors fell by an 86-81 count. The loss dropped the Beavers to 10-13 and 7-9 in the HCAC. Anderson improved to 12-11 and 7-9 in the conference

Congrats to the Pirate Powerlifting Team! Girls team took first place with individual firsts from Allison Wise, Kim Gordon, Darby Prichard, Arielle O’Neal and Amelia Mitchell. Zavier O’Neal nabbed first place for the boys who finished 6th as a team.
