Bridge Bereavement Services will offer a presentation that focuses on how individuals can prepare for the holidays while allowing themselves to grieve in a healthy manner on Monday, Dec. 18, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. in Marathon Auditorium at Blanchard Valley Hospital, 1900 S. Main St., Findlay.

The presentation is free, open to the public and registration is not required.

Attendees will be provided with the tools and assistance necessary to create a luminary to light in honor and remembrance of their loved one, if they choose to do so.

BFR releases programming plans for first half of 2018

Bluffton Family Recreation announces its schedule of programming and tournaments for the first half of 2018, according to Amy Byers, sports coordinator.

The events in January, February and March are already set. Events in April through July are in the planning stages. Watch the Icon for more details on those.

Bluffton Icon announces several enhancements to its website this week. These include:

¨• Viewers now have the option to sign-up to receive daily e-mails of all stories posted the Icon. All stories arrive automatically in one e-mail each morning. This option works through MailChimp. It is a free service and viewers may opt out of it at any time if they choose. Simply send your e-mail address to: [email protected] and request to be added to the Bluffton Icon’s daily e-mail news story list.

Bluffton’s wrestling team went 1-4 as a team in the Findlay Duals to open the 2017-18 season.  The Pirates defeated Bath 36-29 in a team win.  BHS dropped matches to Sandusky, Findlay, Oak Hills and Fremont Ross, all schools in large school OHSAA divisions.  

Deandre Nassar (220) got his season off to a strong start with a 5-0 day.  The junior won one match by pin and had two close wins by 3-2 and 4-2 scores.

New menu of specially-designed wine and food pairings

The Mustard Seed Café at the Depot, 562 N. Main St., Blufton announces a menu for its wine and light plate pairings taking place Tuesday, Dec. 5, from 5-9 p.m.

Rhonda Moor said, "We will have a new menu of specially-designed wine and food pairings every Tuesday evening in December from our chef, Vasko Vasileski. Vasko comes to the Mustard Seed from Macedonia and lives in Ada."
