Rosalie Rakosky, 97, died at Norwalk Memorial Home in Norwalk on Saturday, Dec. 2, 2017.

Born April 23, 1920, in Columbus, Ohio, to the late Harry and Alice (nee Kathary) Barnes.  She graduated from Bluffton High School in 1938 and attended Bluffton College for 2 years and North Western School of Commerce for 1 year.  

Girl Scout team "Musical Waffles" advancing in First Lego League competition

Bluffton Girl Scout troop 20007 proved their robotics abilities over the weekend.

The only all-girl team in the First Lego League, international robotics program and competition, placed 7th out of 24 teams in its first tournament.

The Bluffton troop received a grant from the Girl Scouts of Western Ohio to obtain the equipment needed to compete in the First Lego League competition. 

Placing 7th enables the Bluffton troop to move to the next competition level.

The team received a trophy for placing second in one of the three program categories – core values.

You'll find this holiday wreath on the doorway of 103 N. Main St., which is the home of Studio Silhouette and Bluffton Barbers. Main Street businesses have out done themselves with holiday decorating this year.

The Icon spotted this plate on a white Nissan on a side street near Main Street in Ada. We're pretty certain its a husband-wife initial combination.

Christmas For Kids will be held at Trinity School, 105 Allen St., Jenera, on Saturday, Dec. 9, from 11:45 a.m.-3:30 p.m. 

A free lunch will be served at 11:45 a.m.

 2017 Christmas Cantata at the Pandora United Methodist Church

 The Pandora United Methodist Church Choir will be presenting a Christmas Cantata, “Season of Praise” written by Lloyd Larson on Sunday, Dec. 10, at 9:30 a.m. during the worship service.

The church service and refreshments in the fellowship hall afterwards are open to the public.

The choir is directed by Pat Basinger and accompanied by Pat Michel. The church is located on State Route 12 at 108 E. Washington St.,  Pandora. The Rev. Duane Kemerley is the pastor.
