BFR accepting team registrations now - league play starts in January

Bluffton Family Recreation is now forming teams for this winter’s youth leagues, according to Amy Byers, sports director.

The following league formations are underway and each team fee is $270:

• 4th grade boys’ developmental league
   Games on Saturdays at BFR beginning Jan. 6

• 4th grade girls’ developmental league
   Games on Saturdays at BFR beginning Jan. 6

• 5th grade boys’ league
   Games on Sundays at BFR beginning Jan. 7

Eli Kahn performs on Tuesday, Oct. 10

The featured artist for the Bluffton Town Hall Concert Series for the month of Octoberis Eli Kahn.

Eli is a jazz guitarist, composer, and graduate of Indiana University of South Bend with degrees in both music theory and classical guitar.

With 13 years of experience, he has gigged extensively across the country and his music has been featured on nationally distributed compilations and provided the score for several short films featured in international film festivals. 

Ribbon cutting at noon

Open house - open to the community from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Bluffton Family Medicine will host its grand opening on Friday, Oct. 6, from noon to 2 p.m. at 204 N. Main St. Formal remarks and ribbon cutting will take place at noon by invitation only.

Nicholas Swisher was named to the University of Northwestern Ohio President’s List for the summer 2017 quarter, College of Business. To be named to the list, students must receive a grade point average of 4.0. Swisher is a 2015 Bluffton High School graduate.

Area residents experienced extreme temperatures of 49 degrees in September, according to Guy Verhoff, Pandora weather observer.

A September low temperature of 42 was recorded Sept. 10. A high reading of 91 was recorded on five dates: Sept. 21, 22, 23 24, and 26.

• Average September 2017 temperature 66.6 degrees
• Normal average September temperature 64.1 degrees

• September 2017 precipitation 2.05 inches
• Normal average September precipitation 2.96 inches
