Kid's night out, Halloween party, indoor soccer, adult volleyball - just for starters

Bluffton Family Recreation has a wide assortment of programming for youth and adults this fall, according to Amy Byers, BFR sports coordinator.

Fall festival
BFR will host a craft home expo and open house during this year's Fall Festival on Saturday, Sept. 23.

Three Bluffton part-time students at Rhodes State College were named to the 2017 summer semester dean's list.

Students are: Kaitlynn Elizabeth King, Jonathan Scott Shivers and Jacob Dylan Spencer.

Leading authority on Ecstasy research

Jon E. Sprague, R.Ph., Ph.D., director and BCI Eminent Scholar at the Ohio Attorney General’s Center for the Future of Forensic Science at Bowling Green State University, and a leading authority on Ecstasy research, will be speaking at the University of Findlay from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 30 in the Davis Street Building, Room 2225.

Police pay rates and mobile food providers also on the agenda

Bluffton council considers second and third readings of three ordinances tonight. These include:
• Licensing and regulations for mobile food providers (2nd reading)
• Establishing ranges of pay for members of the police department (2nd reading)
• Addendum to the Village of Ottawa water contract of Dec. 2, 2005. (3rd reading)

The water ordinance states: “The parties agree that Bluffton has paid Ottawa for water for all contract years before 2017. “
